Scheme approved. Phased, mixed-use redevelopment of the existing Elephant and Castle shopping centre and London College of Communication sites comprising the demolition of all existing buildings and structures and redevelopment to comprise buildings ranging in height from single storey to 35 storeys (with a maximum building height of 124.5m AOD) above multi-level and single basements, to provide a range of uses including 979 residential units (use class C3), retail (use Class A1-A4), office (Use Class B1), education (use class D1), assembly and leisure (Use Class D2) and a new station entrance and station box for use as a London underground operational railway station; means of access, public realm and landscaping works, parking and cycle storage provision, plant and servicing areas, and a range of other associated and ancillary works and structures.

Victoria Wharf St John’s Terrace

Scheme approved. Demolition of existing buildings, construction of a part 5 and part 3 storey building containing 9 flats (2 x 1 bed, 4 x 2 bed, 2 x 3 bed, 1 x 4 bed) with private balconies/terraces, bicycle storage, waste storage and grass amenity areas.

6-10 Ingate Place

Scheme approved. Demolition of the existing buildings on the site and construction of 1 new building ranging from 6 to 10 storeys in height comprising of office (Use Class B1a) to accommodate co-working and small and medium enterprises (SME’s) on all floors, light industrial (Use Class B1c) at the rear of the ground floor (plus partial mezzanine) and at basement level; dual use of the first, second and third floors for office (Use Class B1a) /light industrial (Use Class B1c) and ancillary facilities, public realm improvements and associated landscaping. 20% of the total floorspace within the building (all of Level 4 and Level 5) will be Managed by Workspace.

Scheme approved. Demolition of the existing buildings, with the retention and restoration of the RACS building facade and redevelopment to the remainder of the site to provide a part single/part four/part five-storey building to provide up to 2,105sqm of flexible floorspace at ground level for retail, financial and professional serivces, restaurant, pub and bar (Classes A1-A4) and 173sqm floorspace for community use (Class D1/D2); a 96-bedroom hotel (Class C1); 41 residential units (comprising 9 x 1-bedroom, 29 x 2-bedroom and 3 x 3 -bedroom units); associated car parking for 45 cars (including 29 spaces for public use), 124 cycle parking spaces, servicing areas and landscaping.

Gasholder Station Kennington Oval

Scheme approved. Demolition of existing buildings and structures including temporary disassembly of listed gas holder no. 1, demolition of locally listed gas holders 4 and 5, redevelopment to provide a mixed-use development comprising re-erection of restored gas-holder no. 1, erection of new buildings ranging from 4-18 storeys to provide 738 residential units (Class C3), 10,160 sqm of Class B1 office and Class B1 shared office space incorporating ancillary cage and space for community use, 800 sqm for waste management use, 148 of D1 community space, the provision of a new publically accessible open space, new pedestrian and vehicle routes, accesses and amenity areas, basement level car park with integral servicing areas, provision of new gas governor and substation, and other associated works of de-contamination.

Proposed Development Site at 54-62, 66 and 68 Oxford Street and 51-58 Rathbone Place

Approved. Demolition of Nos 66 & 68 Oxford Street and redevelopment behind retained facades of Nos 54-62 Oxford Street and 51- 58 Rathbone Place to proved a new building comprising four basement levels, ground and seven upper floor levels. Use of the entire building either for retail (Class A1) or the use of part basements to first floor as retail (Class A1) and offices (Class B1) with a dual/alternative use of floors two to seven for either retail (Class A1) or office (Class B1) use; and associated works including plant at basement levels 3 and 4, the creation of terraces at sixth and seventh floors level behind an acoustic attenuated louvred facade onto Perry’s Place, and the installation of photovoltaic panels at roof level.

Approved. Demolition and redevelopment to provide a building of three basement levels, ground and part five, part six upper floors for use as a hotel (Class C1) with ancillary restaurant, bar and wellness facilities, including terraces at 4th and 6th floors; plant equipment at 6th floor and roof level and associated works.

41 Kingsway

Approved. Use of first to seventh floors as a hotel (Class C1) and as a restaurant (Class A3) at ground floor and basement level, extension in the rear light well at first to seventh floors, extension and new dormer windows at seventh floor level, installation of new shopfronts and signage at ground floor level, installation of mechanical plant and an extract duct at podium and roof level.

Alexandra Buildings, Palace Street

Approved. Alterations and extensions to the North, South Alexandra and Mews Buildings (Castle Lane/Palace Street) for use as affordable house (Class C3) comprising 86 units; including creation of balconies; construction of a cycle/bin store, lift and staircase to the rear of North Building; soft and hard landscaping including children’s play area; cycle parking and other associated works (amendment to planning permission 12/02189/FULL) (site also known as 2-4 Castle Lane).
